Product Description

Vinblastine is an anti-mitotic drug, used for the treatment of various kinds of cancer, including Hodgkin's lymphoma, non-small cell lung cancer, breast cancer, testicular cancer etc.

How it is Administered

Injected directly into the veins using fine tube (cannula) inserted into the veins of the arms
Through a central line in the form of drip, which is injected under the skin into a vein near the collarbone
Using a PICC (peripherally inserted central catheter) line, which is inserted into a vein in the crook of the ar

Side Effects

Lowered resistance to infection
Anaemia
Nausea and vomiting
Tiredness and feeling weak

Precautions

There may be stinging or burning around the vein while the drug is being administered or in case there is any leakage of fluid from the cannula site, immediately bring it to the notice of your doctor
The leakage of the drug into the tissue around the vein may cause serious damage to the tissue
If the area around the interjection becomes red or swollen bring it to the notice of the doctor
It is advisable to avoid pregnancy or becoming father during the course of treatment or at least after a month
